![]() JSeblod CCK Version 1.7 Web Design Software Price: Free JSeblod CCK is a Content Construction Kit for Use with the Joomla Content Management system. The Package which consists of a Component along with various Plugins and Modules, allows you to take complete control over the creation and display of content on your web site. This is achieved by creating customised forms for content submission which output to CSS templates, allowing you to style the way that the content is displayed on your site.   If you need users to submit reviews, tutorials, news, offers or articles JSeblod CCK allows you to custom create a form for each type of content, with generic or custom templates for each type of content.   The software package really is too comprehensive to allow us to delve too deeply over the course of one article so this article should be looked upon as a brief whistle stop tour of some of it's functionality.   Lets have a little look under the bonnet in the Administration Backend.

Content Types are the types of content you want submitted to your site, a Content Type is a combination of Front and Backend Forms and Content. JSeblod CCK ships with 10 predefined Content Types, examples of these are Article Submission and User Registration. But it's real power lies with your ability to create your own Content Types - The possibilities are endless, you can create Forms and Templates for Recipes, Film Reviews, Personal Profiles, Tutorials and pretty much any the content you would like to display on your site. With each Content Type you have total control over the Front and Backend Forms and over what information is actually displayed on your web site.
Fields are the individual components which when combined make up a form. Jseblod CCK Ships with more than 40 types of generic fields and over 260 built and ready-for-use fields, once again it is possible to create custom fields to suit the particular Content Type you wish to create. Examples of fields are WYSIWYG editors such as JCE, plain text, Captcha, Image Uploads, Save, Reset, Radio Buttons, Check Boxes, META Fields. The same content type can have different fields in the front and backend to allow more control over editing in the backend than you might like to grant your users. Additionally the choice of Editor displayed in your frontend forms can be change to regulate the amount of editing power you grant your users, this is particularly useful if you want to speed up the moderation process.
Templates are the tools which give you control over the way that Forms and Content are Displayed, a Template consists of an index, a style sheet any images and an xml template details file. JSeblod CCK ships with several generic Templates for both Forms and Content but designing your own custom templates allows you to controls the way in which different types of content are displayed allowing you to achieve a professional uniform look throughout your site.
A pack is a combination of content types (forms), and/or fields and/or templates contained in a ZIP file. These can be created and downloaded then saved and/or imported as templates to other sites in much the same way as a Joomla template.   Over the course of the next few week we intend to publish a series of articles and tutorials looking at some of JSblod CCK's functionality. such as the construction of Fields, Content Types and Templates.   For more information or to download the latest copy visit, http://www.jseblod-cck.com Add this page to your favorite Social Bookmarking websites |
